ATM Withdrawal Fees Sri Lanka

Most Sri Lankan ATMs charge a local fee of Rs 500–750 per withdrawal, plus your home bank's foreign transaction fee (typically 1.5–3%).

Common ATM Networks

• BOC, People's Bank — widely available, Rs 500–600 fee
• Commercial Bank, HNB — Rs 500–600 fee
• HSBC, Standard Chartered — may waive fee for their own cardholders

Daily Limits

Most ATMs have a per-transaction limit of Rs 40,000–100,000. You can withdraw multiple times per day (subject to your card limit).

Tips

• Decline the ATM's offer to convert to your home currency (Dynamic Currency Conversion) — it adds a 3–5% fee.
• Always choose to be charged in LKR, not your home currency.
• Withdraw larger amounts to minimise fixed fees per withdrawal.
